Soroptimist International of Newport was chartered in 1946 with May Sherman as the first president. The club today continues the goals envisioned by the first Newport Soroptimists. The club sponsors many fundraising events throughout the year, including the traditional January Crab Feed serving as many as 300 citizens from Newport and the surrounding communities.

 

Over the years our local club has funded, participated and supported many projects helping to improve our local schools, hospital and other local civic organizations.
